Dr. Harold Bafitis, D.O., MPH, FACOS, FACS, is a double board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with a passion for excellence in patient care. He earned his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, where he also pursued a Master’s in Public Health to deepen his understanding of preventive medicine and holistic patient outcomes.
Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Bafitis has been guided by one philosophy: every patient deserves compassion, precision, and the latest medical innovations. He believes that true healing involves both science and soul, and he continually strives to bring both to his practice.

Graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of North Texas Health Science Center

Dr. Bafitis graduated with top honors, demonstrating his academic dedication and passion for the sciences. This achievement laid a strong foundation for his future in medicine.

Education & Training:
  • Earned a Bachelor’s degree with honors at the University of Maryland, followed by an MPH from the University of Texas School of Public Health.
  • Completed Medical Degree cum laude at the University of North Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.
  • Completed a five-year general surgery residency at Grandview Medical Center, Dayton, OH, followed by a two‑year fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Plastic Surgery Institute in Iowa.
  • Completed an additional cosmetic & breast surgery fellowship with Cincinnati Plastic Surgery Associates .
Credentials & Leadership:
  • Holds dual board certification in General Surgery and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and is both a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (FACOS) and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) — a rare distinction.
  • Former Chairman of the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and current member of its Residency Evaluation and Standards Committee.
  • Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery, Nova Southeastern University; training medical students, residents, and peers for over 20 years.
